My name is Kelly and I work for Tourism Kingston.
We are a Destination Marketing Organization (DMO) within the Regional Tourism Office 9 (RTO 9) sector. While most other DMO’s are linked with economic development or similar establishments, we are branching out on our own. It is a daunting process and one that I am thankful to be involved in from the preliminary stages.
After traveling around a lot of the world working on cruise ships, Kingston was always somewhere I knew I wanted to start a long lasting career.
I began working for Tourism Kingston in late May and when I applied, it was only to experience a panel interview process; I never thought that I would be awarded this amazing opportunity.
My two main market segments are Meetings and Conferences (MC) along with Travel Trade (TT). This means I work locally, regionally, and nationally to promote Kingston as a Top 4 Destination for businesses and companies to hold their meetings, conferences, and tours. I am also responsible for marketing, advertising, budgeting and maintaining communication with stakeholders for both segments.
Collaborating with a vertical slice of the tourism industry in Kingston includes accommodations, venues, attractions, and restaurants. This has afforded me the chance to meet and, most importantly learn from, smart and innovative entrepreneurs, business owners, managers, curators, and creators.

As the Meetings and Conventions Lead Specialist with Tourism Kingston, Kelly Brintnell works closely with partners across the city, including but not limited to, accommodation and activity resources. Maintaining current professional relationships as well as building new opportunities for the destination, she has a strong background in communication, the travel industry, and innovative fresh thinking.
