I came to Kingston, Ontario, Canada earlier this summer from the States. My mom’s side of the family is American, while my dad’s side is Nigerian (hence my unique name). I was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, and moved to Nashville, Tennessee, before grade six. For undergrad, I went to Penn State University where I earned my Bachelor’s degree in animal science with a minor in Spanish. I then attended the University of Wisconsin for veterinary school and graduated in May of this year.

How I joined the industry: I’ve wanted to be a veterinarian since the age of three. I briefly considered becoming an architect or a computer graphics designer, but ultimately, my longstanding passion for animals won me over.

Favourite industry app: VSCO – photography is one of my favourite hobbies, and this app is perfect for stylizing shots.

What I would consider doing if I could get over my fear: Initiating conversations with people I don’t know, and not feeling awkward about small talk.

Best giveaway item I’ve ever received: The 2018 9.7-inch iPad.

Advice I would give to my younger self: The enemy of good is perfect. Everything might not go perfectly as planned, but if you’ve put for the best effort you can, at the end of the day, that’s all you can really ask for.

Favourite icebreaker question: What brand of cereal would describe your personality, and why?

Favourite quote:   “Love is what brought you here. And if you’ve trusted love this far, don’t panic now. Trust it all the way.”
